The Park Tool BBT-169 Steel Bottom Bracket / Lockring Tool is a heavy-duty 4140 steel workshop tool for removal and installation of components with 16-notch tool fittings covering threaded bottom bracket cups center lock disc brake rotor lockrings and e-bike motor lockrings. The BBT-169 fits 16-notch fittings with a major diameter of 44–45mm and a minor diameter of 42.7mm encompassing Shimano BB80 BB5700 XT BB70 BB51 and previous external bearing threaded cups as well as cups from Campagnolo Chris King FSA MegaExo Hope SRAM/Truvativ GXP Race Face X-type Surly and others. Center lock disc brake rotor lockrings and Bafang BBSH and BBS02 mid-drive motor lockrings are also within its scope making the BBT-169 one of the broadest-application tools in the Park Tool bottom bracket range. The extra-deep body handles extra-wide spindles low-profile walls seat into recessed lockrings and three drive options — 3/8″ drive 1″ hex and 36mm wrench flats — address seized components across the full compatibility list. Integrated threads accept the Park Tool BBT-RS Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System or GPS-1 Guide Pins (each sold separately).
